Command: the Influencing strength for founders

Somebody has to take the wheel.

What it is

Presence that organizes a room. They will say the hard thing, set the direction, and expect people to move.

What it is not

Not Self-Assurance (inner certainty). Not Activator (start). Not Significance (the stage). Command is taking control of the situation.

How it shows up in a founder

How this strength breaks the company

Superpowers in the company

Product

Kills the indecision that keeps a bad SKU alive and a good one in committee.

People

Clarity. Rank. A standard. Best in a turnaround; bruising in a creative shop.

Money

Will make the ugly cash call: cut, raise, fire, stop the ads.

Ops

Sets the rule and enforces it. The factory runs. Fear can hide in the speed.

You, them, co-founder

If you have it

Ask for the dissent on purpose. One 'tell me why I'm wrong' before you lock it. Authority without that is a blindfold.

If they report to you

Give them a real problem and real authority. Don't put them in a role that requires endless consensus. Coach the aftermath, not just the decision.

If they're a co-founder

They will take the hill. You must own the people who got stepped on. Do not both try to drive.

Working rule

Decide in the room. Invite one structured dissent before you lock it.

Ask this

When did you last change your mind because someone pushed back?

Hire beside them

Empathy, Harmony, Strategic, Intellection

People who will tell them the truth and still move when it's time.

Tells

Sits forward. Short sentences. The meeting has an owner.

Stress tell

More control. Fewer questions. The door gets heavier.

Don't confuse with

Self-Assurance is inner certainty. Activator starts. Command takes the wheel. Pair with Empathy so people still want to ride.
