During the Covid time, we had to suspend sourcing trips and that has really been annoying from both a networking standpoint as well as a business progress point of view.
Due to the travel restrictions we haven’t been able to goto China since November of 2019. And even now in mid-2022 we have no idea when or if we can return to China.
The changes in the geopolitical landscape combined with economic pressures are forcing us to approach sourcing and cross border trade with a new lens.
We must take an account of where we are and where we need to go and then synthesize the objectives within the global realities that exist today. Moreover we should try to predict which way the winds are blowing so that we can anticipate what that means for the supply chain.
The good news is that we’re going to take a more active role in sourcing trips from other countries.
